Context: Amidst complex migration challenges, IOM Tunisia plays a crucial role in coordinating media and communications efforts. Under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Programme Support Unit Coordinator, the Media and Communications Officer will be responsible for coordinating media-related activities at IOM Tunisia. Core Functions / Responsibilities:

Public Information Products: Regularly draft public information products, including written and audio-visual content for national and international audiences, press notes, and global communications initiatives. Opportunity Alert: Multiple Media and Communications Officer Positions Available at IOM
Media Liaison: Draft lines to take for colleagues and coordinate responses to media requests and interview opportunities. Opportunity Alert: Multiple Media and Communications Officer Positions Available at IOM
Social Media Management: Maintain IOM Tunisia’s social media accounts and ensure content aligns with IOM standards and guidelines. Monitor the impact of digital outreach efforts.
Content Production: Produce quality content, including human-interest stories, photographs, and video clips, contributing to communications campaigns at various levels. Opportunity Alert: Multiple Media and Communications Officer Positions Available at IOM
Coordination: Coordinate with the Regional Media and Communications Officer to enforce global media guidelines and provide content for regional and global channels.
Supervision: Supervise the Media and Public Information assistant to ensure content quality and alignment with IOM’s brand guidelines and strategic communications priorities.
Media Relations: Maintain media contact lists, coordinate press releases and media packages, and arrange press briefings and media trainings.
Interagency Collaboration: Liaise with interagency communications working groups to facilitate information flow and develop complementary public information strategies.
Field Operations: Undertake duty travel to gather material for multimedia content showcasing humanitarian situations and IOM field activities.
Gender and Inclusion: Ensure gender, diversity, and inclusion awareness in all external communications.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Master’s degree or equivalent in Journalism, Communications, or related field with relevant professional experience.
Experience in international journalism, public information roles, digital communications, and media liaison.
